Can I get rid of my code device when I get BankID app or BankID on mobile? 

No. Although BankID app or BankID on mobile are sufficient for daily use, the code device may come in handy. 

  • If you forget your PIN or receive a new SIM card, you need your code device to activate BankID on mobile again.
  • If you are to download the BankID app on a new phone you will need to log in with BankID to activate the app. 
  • If you are to sign documents digitally with BankID on mobile you also need the BankID password coming either from the app or the code device.

We are working on making BankID simpler, so that the code device will be redundant in the future.
