xID is an easy and safe alternative to username and password
xID eliminates bad password habits and reuse of the same passwords over and over again. xID is secured by BankID and thus, it is safer to use than other ‘remember me’ options.
To activate your xID, verify your identity with BankID on the device you’re using. We ask you to do this to be sure of who you are, and you only need to do this once. If at some point we don’t recognize your identity, or you are on a new device, we will ask you to verify your identity using BankID once again.
The next time you visit a website that uses xID, you will be asked whether you want to use xID here. If you consent, you will be logged in automatically the next time – quickly and safely. You choose the websites where you want to use your xID to log in.
xID remembers you the next time you visit the website. This will give you a streamlined online experience, and you no longer need to remember your username and password.
You can activate your xID on several devices, for example your mobile phone, tablet and computer. We recommend that you only activate xID on personal devices.

First, you complete your contact information (name, address and phone number) with BankID. Then, you use xID to share this information with the websites you want with a single click. You always decide what you want to share. Quick, safe and easy. Your personal data is then securely stored with BankID.
You are always in control of your contact information stored with BankID, and it will only be shared with websites if you actively give your consent. In other words, you have complete control of what you are sharing with whom.
If you no longer want to have xID, log on to My BankID and delete xID.
