Why do I have to verify my identity using BankID when I try using my xID?

If you try to use your xID on a website, but we are unable to recognise it, we will ask you to use BankID to verify your identify. This ensures that no one other than you has access to your logged in pages. You will also be asked to use BankID if you want to activate xID on a new device.
